The University of Minnesota wrestling team has announced its full schedule for the 2023-24 season. The season will officially begin on November 11 and will include a total of 14 dual meets and four tournaments. The team will have seven home duals at Maturi Pavilion. The start times and TV streaming coverage for the season will be announced at a later date.
The season will kick off with the Maroon & Gold traveling to Fargo, N.D., to compete in the Bison Open on November 11. The team will then have its first dual meet against Bucknell on November 16, which will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools. Two days later, Minnesota will visit George Mason for a triangular with the Patriots and Morgan State. The Daktronics Open is scheduled for November 19.
On November 26, Minnesota will have its home debut by hosting South Dakota State. After a trip to the Cougar Clash on December 2 in Edwardsville, Ill., the team will return home for a Big 12 matchup against North Dakota State on December 10. A home matchup with Oklahoma State is also planned for mid-to-late December, with a specific date yet to be determined. The team will then close out the calendar year with the Soldier Salute tournament in Iowa City on December 29-30.
The Big Ten schedule will begin with a road contest against Iowa on January 15, followed by the Big Ten home opener against Nebraska on January 19. The team will then travel to Rutgers on January 27 before returning home for dual meets against Maryland on February 2 and Northwestern on February 4.
After the two home matches, Minnesota will have two consecutive away meets, starting with Illinois on February 9 and concluding with Purdue on February 11. The regular season will end with a Border Battle matchup against Wisconsin at Maturi Pavilion on February 16.
The postseason will begin with the Big Ten Championships on March 9-10 in College Park, Md. The team will then compete at the NCAA Championships in Kansas City, Mo., from March 21-23.
