The Board of Directors of Health Sciences North and the Health Sciences North Research Institute have announced two significant leadership appointments. Dr. David McNeil will be assuming the position of President and Chief Executive Officer for both institutions. Dr. Pankaj Bhatia, on the other hand, will be promoted to the role of Chief of Staff for the hospital.
Dr. McNeil is no stranger to Health Sciences North, as he had previously worked there for 28 years. In the past five years, he served as the CEO of Brant Community Health Care in Southwestern Ontario. With his return, he takes over from Dominic Giroux, who left in June to become the CEO of Hôpital Montfort in Ottawa.
Dr. Bhatia, who will be succeeding Dr. John Fenton, has been a part of Health Sciences North for 12 years. Currently, he holds the position of Medical Director of the HSN Simulation Lab. Throughout the years, he has played a significant role at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University as an Associate Professor and Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program.
