SAN DIEGO, CA. – The University of Minnesota tennis team had an impressive start to the San Diego State (SDSU) Fall Classic I. On the first day of their first road event, they achieved a 2-1 record in doubles matches and a 5-1 record in singles matches. The day began with one round of doubles followed by one round of singles.

“In the tournament, we only lost one doubles match and one singles match. We started off strong and played at a higher level,” said head coach Lois Arterberry. “Even on the courts that we didn’t win, we fought hard and showed confidence. We still have a long way to go, but our focus is on getting better every day.”

The SDSU Classic will continue at Aztec Tennis Center tomorrow. Doubles matches will start at 11:00 a.m. (CT), followed by singles matches at 12:00 p.m. (CT).
