ABOUT ROCKY’S RUN
Members of the public are invited to join the Gophers for an open 6K race at Les Bolstad on Saturday. Registration is available online, and race-day registration will also be available. The entry fee to participate is $20 per person. The competition will start at 10:30 a.m., and there will be just one race.
Rocky’s Run was established in 1981 to honor former Gopher runner Rochelle “Rocky” Racette, who passed away in a car accident at the age of 22. During her time at the University of Minnesota, Racette was an All-American in track & field and cross country, as well as the champion of the Big Ten and Drake Relays 5,000-meter titles. The annual race is organized by members of the running community who knew and loved her. Racette’s legacy lives on through the memory of those who knew her, Rocky’s Run, and the scholarship it raises funds for.
LAST TIME OUT: XC23 PRE-NATIONALS

A GOPHER STATE OF AFFAIRS
Out of the 23 women on Minnesota’s roster, 16 are from the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Additionally, four other states and one other country are represented, including Illinois (2), Wisconsin (2), North Dakota, California, and Canada. On the men’s side, nine out of the 17 members are from Minnesota. Wisconsin is represented by three student-athletes, while Idaho, Montana, Iowa, Connecticut, and Washington are home to one Gopher each.
