MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Minnesota Golden Gophers were unable to score a run against South Dakota State pitcher senior Shannon Lasey on Wednesday and were shut out 7-0 by the Jackrabbits.
Senior Jacie Hambrick (3-8) started and took the loss on the mound for Minnesota (23-22, 9-8 B1G).
At the plate, the Golden Gophers were led by senior Sydney Strelow, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Minnesota did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Golden Gophers went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the fourth, when sophomore Maggie Werner made it into scoring position with one out.
